Now Introducing Albums!

I am so excited to share my new albums today! I recently recieved my new samples in the mail and I was pretty loud with my excitement (just ask my family). The albums are so beautiful that I just want to hug them and show everyone! I am so excited to be now offering albums to my clients. I think working with the elderly is what really pushed me toward selling albums. For many of the residents I work with, their wedding album and photographs are their most prized possession. They love showing me their pictures from their wedding and those images are still preserved beatuifully. I want my clients to have that experience and the opportunity to display and cherish their photographs for years and years to come.
I have chosen an amazing company to work with and I am excited to start ordering books for clients!

There are so many amazing things about these albums.
As the company says, it is one book with two flavors. There are both leather bound albums and linen.
The books come in sizes of 8×8, 10×10, or 12×12 and a variety of colors.

Here is my 10×10 leather wedding sample book.
Isn’t that color just gorgeous? I am kind of obsessed with it.

They are 100% genuine leather that is chosen for it’s beautiful texture and quality.

The pages are thick and durable and just feel amazing when admiring your images!

They also come with really fun dust covers!

The other type of album is the linen albums.
They have textured, linen covers and pages that are thinner and without any material between them like the leather. Linen books are thinner and lighter, making them great for portrait, engagement, or even a wedding.
This is a 12×12 linen sample book.

Bethany Cox - GORGEOUS!! I love them.

Grandma’s Tree

Back in July, I shot a wedding at the Elgin Country Club. My grandpa used to be a member there and he started telling me about this tree out on the golfcourse I had to go see. He would get all excited telling me exactly where it was, what it looked like, etc so I wouldn’t miss it. You see this is a very special tree. After my grandma passed away, he planted this tree in her name with a plaque on it. It now grows on the golf course in her memory. Since his health hasn’t been so good lately, it has been years since he was able to go and see the tree. I knew I had to get a picture for him. Yesterday I printed and framed the picture and was so excited to give it to him because he had no idea I had a picture. I told him I just had seen it. It was such a emtional moment to see him open his gift. I lost it when he held the picture to his chest with tears in his eyes and told me how much he missed her. I have never seen him like that and it was so special. This shows the power of photographs. It brings so many memories and tugs on our heartstrings. I love how my job is to capture those memories and emotions. I also love how a simple picture of a tree can mean so much. I just wanted to share this little story with you all today because I love the moment I had with my grandpa.

Special thanks to Mr. Pfortmiller for researching the tree location and bringing me there! He was the father of the bride and took time during the wedding day to sneak me over to the tree. I am so grateful for you!

Visel Family ::: St. Charles Family Photography

When Kevin and Kelsey asked me to do their family photos, I was first honored then became a bundle of nerves. You see they are AMAZING wedding photographers and I look up to them so much. So there is always this pressure when shooting other photographers. But I love the photos and they came out beautiful! I have gotten to know and love this family over the past year and they are so wonderful. They are a God centered family who are just so adorable and sweet. I also can count on them if I ever have questions about healthy food:) I just smile whenever I go through these because those kids are so darn cute!!

Jake & Amanda ::: Holland, Michigan Wedding Photography

“God has truly blessed me with a beautiful wife who loves me more than I deserve. I am so excited to spend my life with you and fulfill God’s plan for our lives. You are my best friend and my better half. I love you more than words,

Your husband”

I am so excited to share today’s wedding with everyone! These two are special in my heart. Through this process of being there at the proposal to shooting the wedding, I have gotten to know and love Jake and Amanda. To be honest I am a little sad the wedding is over just because I have enjoyed being apart of their lives! She is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. Just being around Amanda will make you happy. I love people that are so genuine and caring like that. She constantly asked me through the wedding day if I needed anything. On HER day she was asking about ME. Just goes to show you what kind of person she is. Jake is the leader of their relationship and watching the way he loves Amanda touches me. He is her rock and he can make her laugh with a simple whisper in her ear. Those are the words he wrote on a plaque for his bride. Their relationship is anchored on Christ. I love that symbol that was throughout their day. The wedding took place at Hope College where they met and fell in love. We even got to go to Lake Michigan for their portraits. This was my first out of state wedding and I loved it! Here are the pictures from their wonderful day!

Cape Cod ::: Vacation 2013

Cape Cod, MA is my happy place. I have been going there since I was a kid and it is a place where I can go to get away. I feel so refreshed and relaxed and as chliche as it is, my soul is at peace there. It is just a beautiful place full of God’s beauty and a time to not make plans but just let them happen. I went by myself to hang out with my grandma who lives there part of the year and this trip didn’t dissapoint. We spent our days swimming at the beach, trying new restaurants, taking boat tours, and drinking tea at night as we read our books. Is there any better way to spend vacation? Here are some pictures from my favorite place!
