Planning engagement sessions in the winter can be a bit tricky. You want to have perfect white snow yet you never know when it is coming!
So when it started snowing one Sunday, I quickly called Bob and Kaeleigh and asked them if they were free because the snow would be so perfect! Thankfully they were and we were able to do part 1 of their engagement session with little notice!
They were such an easy couple to photograph! They are so naturally in love and happy that it didn’t even take any prompting from me.
They were up for anything I suggested even though it was freezing and wet. The whole time I kept saying it was worth it and afte seeing how these pictures turned out, it definetly was.
I am so encouraged by these two and their relationship. I knew Bob in high school and it is so so cool to see where God has taken him and brought him and Kaeleigh together. They both have a heart on fire for God and are going to do great things together!

Photographing proposals is always an amazing, thrilling experience.
They first met at Caribou in Elgin way back and Caribou remained a special place to both of them. So much time was spent there and it really was a part of their relationship. The Elgin Caribou was closed but the Geneva one was just as great so he chose to do it there! These are the two awesome baristas who were in on it and helped us out!Our good friend Chris was there to video it too!On the chalkboard, the question was asking what your most prized posession is. I love that someone said wedding ring! Pretty fitting I think
Ok here is how it happened. Patrick got this beautiful bible for her with what her new married name would be : Arielle Alcantara. How perfect is that?!We had the barista walk over and ask if she was Arielle and that this was hers. Of course Arielle was like what is going on.
Then she opened it and knew what was up. This is her “ITS HAPPENING” face. We laugh because she has been waiting for it and now it was actually happening!
And he is on one knee!Funny thing is the whole store knew what was going on. Arielle and Pat were later than expected so all the customers were antsy because I filled them in. So it was funny that they were all celebrating too!
I love this picture. Those are tears of happiness and shock. He loves her and wants to marry her. Those things were so real to her in that moment. Knowing her heart and how she has always desired to have a Godly man to marry, makes it so much more special.
That ring!!! Oh my! It is one of the prettiest rings I have ever seen! Pat did an amazing job picking it out!!
Proposals make strangers friends
The surprise wasn’t over yet though! We had a surprise party waiting at a nearby restaurant with her loved ones
