My sweet friend Brittney Snowwhite is the one who started the craziness.
She is the one who first introduced me to Starbucks Iced Green Tea Lattes.
At first I wasn’t sure if I liked it or not but then I decided I liked it and am now obsessed. (Weird I know)
I have a few problems with the latte from Starbucks though. It gets pretty pricey, the only milk options are regular milk and soy (which I don’t drink), and I am sure it is loaded with sugar.
Luckily I have a barista brother who told me how to make it from home and bam I now make my own.
I was super excited about this because my expiriments in the kitchen never work and also that this is a much much healthier version.
I am trying to stop drinking pop but have very strong cravings toward Mountain Dew still. I just love the taste. I have found though that if I drink this that craving completely goes away. How about that!
I just have to warn you though. If you have never had matcha it might taste really weird. Like I said in the beginning I I had to get used to it. But I just think it is so delicious now! I know alot of people commented on instagram so I had to share!
So here are the ingredients!
I bought the Matcha Powder at a health store. It is the powdered kind and kinda pricey but so worth it. Matcha supposedly is really good for you too!
I start is a teaspoon of Matcha Powder in 1/4 cup of boiling water. I just stick the water in the microwave and then dissolve the Matcha. Be careful though because it can make a bit of a mess. I kept the mess to make this realistic
Next I take 3/4 cup of Almond Milk and add that in the blender along with the Matcha mix.
Next up is a few drops of liquid Stevia. I don’t know the health benefits of this but I know my extremely healthy, no sugar parents use it soooo I do too haha. Not a good reason but it is a good substitute for sugar. It just adds a little sweet to the strong Matcha taste.
Then just blend together and pur over ice!
And that my friends is your own iced green tea latte. So so tasty and easy! I make this all the time!
