This was so emotional and one of my favorite parts. We had each of the moms write a letter to their new son/daughter. The tears were flowing from everyone!2015-05-07_0048.jpg

In our emails, Heather told me how much he made her laugh and how she wanted that to be captured. It wasn’t hard for me because he had her laughing the entire time!

These look so peaceful but secretly there was a wild turkey way behind us that didn’t seem to happy. So we kept our distance:)

Cherry Blossom Spring Session ::: St. Charles, IL Portrait Photographer

I have a love for cherry blossom trees. It makes my heart flutter when Spring is beginning and they come out in full bloom! I know their beauty is fleeting though because they are only vibrant and pink for a few weeks! So a few weekends ago, I knew the weather and light would be perfect with the trees and I just had to photograph a couple! I had a vision and I was going to complete it. I asked around and couldn’t seem to find anyone who at last minute would be able to. I was at a coffeeshop with some friends that Friday night and we were brainstorming who to ask. I then decided I was going to find a cute couple there and ask them. I was surprised by myself as I am typically shy and not good walking up to strangers like that. A few minutes later, I saw this adorable couple and decided they were the ones. It turns out they were good friends with the people I was with so it wasn’t as weird when I introduced myself and asked them if they wanted to model for me the next day. They probably thought I was crazy but they said yes! So the next evening I got to hang out with these two and they made my vision complete. Seriously, I couldn’t have asked for better subjects! They are just dating now but are so in love! I had so much fun getting to hear their story and I just love their energy and sweet spirits. Here are my favorite images from our session! I’m so thankful they were willing to let a stranger photograph them:)We had some good laughs over it and I have some new friends now!

Mitch & Carrie ::: Fisherman’s Inn ::: Elburn Illinois Wedding Photographer

Mitch and Carrie’s wedding day was a wonderful day full of lots of emotion and rustic charm. They were married at Fisherman’s Inn in Elburn, IL. I love this venue for it’s beautiful grounds and amazing indoor venue with rustic, barn touches. The original plan was to have a fall outdoor ceremony, but the weather told a different story. It was a dreary day with rain and lots of wind. But they rolled with it and moved their ceremony indoors and it was just as beautiful and sentimental. Mitch and Carrie are one of the sweetest couples. They even gifted me a Paleo cookbook! How thoughtful is that?! On their wedding day! It left me in tears but it shows you just what kind of couple they are. Funny side story: Mitch and I were in 4-H as kids and all of the 4-H girls loved him. I don’t think he even knows this but we all wanted to dance with him during the fair barnyard dance. Then Carrie came along and our hopes were dashed. I am being dramatic here but clearly they were meant to be:)

Check out some highlights from their wedding day!

Alex & Allie ::: Downtown Chicago Engagement

With wedding season just around the corner, I am busy prepping for all of the amazing weddings to come! I say it all the time but I have the best couples. And I love how God brings each couple to me and how I get in on a bit of their story. Alex & Allie are one of those special couples:)They are getting married this June and I have had so much fun getting to know them.  Here is a bit of their story from Allie’s side! I love how he pursued her and won her over in the end!

” Alex and I met in 2010 at church. I was 15 and the pastor’s daughter. It was his mom who set us up, actually. She came up to me after a service, handed me Alex’s number and suggested I text him to get him to go to Sunday school.”

“To be honest, I wasn’t interested and I had no intention of texting him. But later that week I was sitting alone in the house and I was bored. So I shot him a text telling him it would be great to see him in Sunday school. And then he didn’t stop texting me. In the beginning I found him annoying. Why wouldn’t this kid leave me alone? But his persistence paid off because exactly one month after I texted him we went on our first date.”

“As of this January we will have been together for five years, and so much has happened in those five years. We’ve gone to four Proms, we’ve been separated for six weeks while I was in Europe and then eight weeks while I was in Nashville, Alex went to college a year ahead of me and we had to adjust to that transition.”

“I joined him at the same school a year later. Now, as College seniors, we are preparing for graduation, planning our wedding, and anticipating me beginning law school next fall. What a wonderful journey it has been. I have had and will have many adventures, but Alex is my greatest adventure of all.”
